Aims & Objectives

DCHI exists to support five simple aims

HELPING MEMBERS TO BUILD THEIR PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS

We do this in a variety of ways in the real world and online.  We run monthly meetings across the region where members can participate in CPD sessions, get updates and reports from around the industry and most importantly meet each other.  Our website hosts a lively forum where members can ask questions, exchange views and swap business opportunities.

SOURCING AND DELIVERING CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR OUR MEMBERS

Throughout the year DCHI hosts a comprehensive series of master-classes, site visits and talks which can easily provide all of our members' CPD hours requirements.  Master-classes are delivered by the major accreditation bodies and at a price to members which is worth the membership costs alone.

HELPING OUR MEMBERS BUILD THEIR BUSINESSES

Every member has the opportunity to build their own "shop-front" for their business using tools provided on the DCHI website.  This shop-front is then presented to potential customers who use the find-a-member tool and can also be included in marketing material or business cards.

PROVIDING A VOICE FOR OUR MEMBERS WITH POLICY MAKERS

Since its inception DCHI has played an active role in the development of the legislation, policies and conventions which support energy assessment and residential property surveying.  As a result of this and the size of its membership DCHI has a strong voice at the highest levels and uses this strength to make sure that our members get a fair hearing wherever and whenever it is needed.

RAISING AWARENESS WITH THE PUBLIC AND BUSINESS COMMUNITY ON THE ROLE OF ENERGY ASSESSORS AND RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY SURVEYORS

Although EPCs and Residential Property Surveys have been in existence for sometime now there is still a need to raise awareness within the industry and with the public.  Through providing editorial content to specialist and general publications, giving presentations and contributing to the many online forums that exist to support energy awareness DCHI makes sure that anyone interested in finding out more ca do so.
